According to the investigation, the mother of several children decided to ‘punish’ her son because he was crying after a bad fall. When the child could not be calmed down for a long time, the woman began to beat him brutally with her hands and the wooden handle of an axe.

The child’s rescue and current state of health
Thanks to the swift and courageous reaction of the victim’s brothers, more tragic consequences were avoided. Seeing their younger brother being bullied, the boys immediately ran to the neighbours and called on the adults for help.
Doctors diagnosed the five-year-old boy with a closed head injury, concussion and numerous grazes all over his body.
The suspect is currently in custody. All four of her children, aged between three and nine, have been removed from a dangerous environment — they are now safe and under the care of specialists.
Investigation into professional negligence on the part of social services
As the police discovered, the family in question had been on the social services’ register since 2021. Despite this, the officials failed to carry out their direct duties properly and did not take timely measures to protect the minors.
As part of the pre-trial investigation, the law enforcement agencies are conducting a separate investigation into possible misconduct or dereliction of duty on the part of officials from the child welfare service of the relevant village council. The necessary investigative measures are ongoing.
